Our Founder

Tanya Hutchison

Tanya Hutchison is the Founder and CEO of Phenomenal Women®, Incorporated, dedicated for over 30 years to uniting, empowering, and inspiring women worldwide. A dynamic speaker, facilitator, beauty expert, and best-selling author, Tanya shares her journey in Phenomenal Beauty: It’s a Journey, Not a Destination and as a contributing writer for Chicken Soup for the African American Woman’s Soul.

Her career spans TV appearances on The View and CBS Morning Show, a Star Search Champion title, and a feature in SELF Magazine for her confidence and grace. From Mrs. California International to Los Angeles Raiders Cheerleader, Tanya’s greatest title now is “Grams”, lovingly given by her grandsons.

She continues to inspire through Phenomenal Fun First Friday virtual events, financial wellness coaching, and international retreats. Tanya believes in giving back, dedicating time to mission trips, financial counseling, and producing the Phenomenal Woman® Spokesmodel Contest.

Her philosophy? Teach a woman to fish, and she’ll eat for a lifetime.

Who We Are

Phenomenal Women® is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and empowering women from all walks of life. We are committed to fostering a supportive environment where women can access educational resources, mentorship opportunities, and personal development programs designed to strengthen character and promote leadership. Through our initiatives, we strive to help women build strong families, establish meaningful connections, and create a lasting impact in their communities. Our internationally recognized mentorship program, which provides guidance, inspiration, and support to young girls, has gained widespread acclaim and is now actively being implemented in Bermuda. Beyond our core focus on women, we also facilitate workshops and training programs for men and children, recognizing that strong communities are built through collective growth and shared learning experiences.

Our Story

Founded in 1995, incorporated in 2002, and officially trademarked in 2006, Phenomenal Women® has been a pillar of empowerment for decades. Our journey began when Tanya Hutchison invited women into her home for encouragement and accountability. Inspired by Margaret Giloth, the name Phenomenal Women® was born. Since then, we have hosted annual fundraisers, workshops, and mentorship programs, including the “Hats Off To YOU” Tea, honoring outstanding women.

Recognized by First Lady Maria Shriver and the Governor’s Office of California, our work continues to make a lasting impact.
